Introduction

My boyfriend and I just moved to Redding in August, from San Francisco. We love how much we are surrounded by nature and have seen evidence of a fledgling cultural community... we'd love to be part of it!

What do you like about Redding, CA?

So far, we LOVE how Redding is nestled in by trees, lakes, mountains... we have so much yet to explore. We've been mostly getting established in our new home, but we want to become a part of the community as much as possible. This seems like a great way to do just that. So far the people we've met seem really wonderful and helpful.. and after a chilly couple of years back in SF, its nice to be scorching in this heat!

What new event would you like to see in Redding, CA?

Anything to do with music and the arts, and the incorporation of the outdoor landscape... I am in full support of. I think its lovely to have music events outside where families can attend. Or, unique types of music showcased to expose the community to that which they would normally not listen to... for example a french cajun band playing at a park where people can bring picnics, etc. If there are enough local musicians, artists to do so... an event showcasing their talents to support and allow them to perpetuate their art would be cool... Literary events would also be great to see, there are tons of ways to promote reading, books, etc...
